Western Library Terrace Design
A project designed for Western Bank Library Terrace at The University of Sheffield, 2012.
The aim was to redesign the terrace providing a relaxing, open area for people to study or have a break.
A wooden triangular structure covers the Terrace has been measured to scale, the structure is 17m high. It is not only to provide an open shelter in a dramatic way; it also provides a functional seatting area surrounded by vegetation, which is coherent with Western Park. Lights have been integrated throughout the whole terrace, under seats, water feature, structure, and floor to give the structure a warm inviting light.
